Starting Tomorrow – Ralph Lewis in “The Last Edition” and Evelyn Brent in “A Broadway Lady”

What promises to be wonderful entertainment is announced in the new double feature program which starts tomorrow and tuns until Wednesday. “The Last Edition,” a film story woven around the life in a newspaper office and Evelyn Brent in “A Broadway Lady” composes the offering.

.

“The Last Edition,” Emory Johnson’s latest production starring Ralph lewis in the leading role, is a stirring melodrama of the newspaper game, as its name might indicate.

.

The re-union of the star and the Johnsons marks the re-establishment of the relations which made “The Third Alarm,” “Westbound Limited,” “The Mailman,” and “In The Name of the Law,” which is all recommendation that the present picture needs. As a matter of arecord, it is the high water mater of melodrama and seems destined to prove even more popular than the sensational “Third Alarm” Mr. Lewis enacts one of the strongest roles ever screened with a fine understanding and striking sincerety. He makes Tom MacDonald live and breathe in the thundering press room where his well-oiled and well-loved machines turns into a demon**** monster which crushes his son. His portrayl carries out the belief that Ralph Lewis does not act his parts – he lives them. A gripping story, a superb cast and the directorial genius of Emory Johnson, combine to make this a picture to be remembered. Frances Teague, Lila Leslie, Rex Lease, Ray Hallor, David Kirby, Cuyler Supplee and several others give the star the best support.
